Courtney Lowman holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Northern Arizona University. While at NAU she studied voice with Ricardo Pereira and sang in the Shrine of the Ages choir under the direction of Dr. Edith Copley. After completing her degree, Mrs. Lowman spent 2 years in Marseille, France performing as a solo artist in local venues as well as collaborating with other French musicians.
Mrs. Lowman recently completed her 5th year as the Director of Choirs at a public High School in Peoria, AZ. Her choirs received Superior ratings at both state and regional competitions. While she enjoyed her position dearly, the birth of her first son inspired her to step away from that job to focus solely on the Lowman Music Studio. Since completing her position at the high school, Mrs. Lowman has served as a judge in local and regional competitions and as a guest clinician in choral classrooms throughout the Valley.
Mrs. Lowman is a member of the Music Teachers National Association and has taught private piano and voice for the past 6 years. She enjoys teaching students of all ages and levels. When working with students, Mrs. Lowman focuses on technique and theory while also emphasizing sight-reading/sight-singing and musicianship, which results in a well-rounded musician. Her students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of performances both with the studio and out in the community.
Lessons are taught at Mrs. Lowman's home in a warm and comfortable environment. Parents and siblings are welcome to observe or they may sit in the waiting area.
