Dr. Jelena Vladikovic, NCTM brings performing and pedagogical experience from four universities, three countries, and two continents. She began concert career at 15 after winning the most prestigious national piano competition, after which she went on to win several national and international piano competitions. She played in Europe, Canada, and the US and appeared on radio and television. She is on piano faculty at Grand Canyon University where she also serves as the subject matter expert for piano performance and pedagogy.
Dr. Vladikovic regularly presents at national, international and world piano and teacher conferences, and offers her students the highest standard in piano teaching. She maintains a small private studio and specializes in highly gifted students with learning differences. Her students greatly benefit from her creative, nurturing, and holistic teaching style and frequently win local, state, national, and international competitions. While many of her students became successful musicians, the majority grow up to be life-long lovers of music regardless of their career choices, and continue to play for pure joy of music making.
Dr. Vladikovic has been recognized by Royal Conservatory Music Development program with the Founding Teacher designation for her "contribution to establishing a national standard for developing musicians in the US." She has also received awards for her pedagogical work, ASU Teaching Excellence Award and the ASU Disability Resource Center Award for her work with gifted students with learning differences being among them.
