Carolyn Inabinet, NCTM, is the director of Music Works Academy, Ltd. MWA, located in North Central Phoenix since 1974, offering lessons in piano, guitar, voice and beginning strings. MWA is the home of the Prelude Piano Program, small group piano classes for ages 3-6.
MWA provides instruction to all ages and all levels - from the preschooler to the senior adult. Piano students also have the opportunity to work in a Piano Lab for theory, ear training, midi performance, notation transcription, and ensemble playing. Lessons are offered throughout the summer. Four Musicales per academic school year provide in-house opportunities for performance. Students can also elect to participate in festivals, ensembles, competitions and adjudications.
PRELUDE Piano Program classes are offered at the Bethany Home location. This program has two segments: 1) ShiningStars - preschool piano for ages 3-5; and 2) LeapFrogs - kindergarten and first grade piano classes. These classes provide small group activities integrating Orff and Kodaly music education experiences with piano: ear training with by-copy solfege singing and playing, hand coordination and awareness with drumming, finger development with piano playing, and music reading readiness activities with PianoFonics®.
Music Works has seven piano instructors on staff who are members of Phoenix Music Teachers Association: Carolyn Inabinet, Malinda Novack, Francisco Naranjo, Jasmine Carlos, Dana Jeyakumar, Casidy Nielsen, and Michela Hyde. In addition, Malinda Novack and Casidy Nielsen are instructors in the PRELUDE Piano Program. Click here to learn more about all our instructors.
