Charlene Zundel-Shelzi is an
independent piano teacher residing in Cave
Creek, Arizona. She co-developed numerous piano
teaching materials as co-owner of TCW Resources
(Three Cranky Women), now nationally published
through Kjos Music Company.
Until 2000, Charlene
was a faculty member of the Utah State
University Youth Conservatory. Charlene is past
president of her Utah MTA Chapter (affiliated
with Music Teacher's National Association) and has
presented at the MTNA National Conference
repeatedly.
Since arriving in Arizona,
Charlene directed the inaugural Arizona Youth
Piano Competition. She’s active in the Phoenix
MTA and serves on the State Board as assistant
editor of all state publications. She also
currently volunteers on the PMTA Piano Ensemble
committee and is a conductor for several annual
performances.
Charlene studied at Ricks
College (now BYU Idaho) and Utah State
University, where she was a student of Gary
Amano. Charlene is active as a clinician,
adjudicator, and performer. She runs marathons
in her spare time (10 to date), and is working
toward completing one in every state.
