Heather Chaney

Piano | In-Home & Online Instruction

Heather is a private piano teacher with over 30 years of experience teaching students of all ages and levels, including senior citizens and special needs. She is currently teaching in students' homes in or around area code 85255.

Teaching in-home allows her to interact with parents and the learning environment to ensure that the student’s practice sessions are as productive as possible. Students receive individualized instruction and participate in their lesson plans. Practice charts are detailed and specific, and theory and technic are taught from the first lessons.

Heather received her Bachelor’s Degree in Piano Performance from the D’Angelo School of Music at Mercyhurst College, after which a hand injury caused her to give up a Master’s scholarship and turn her focus toward teaching. She has studied with Sam Rotman (who studied under Jacob Lateiner of the Juilliard School), Joan Eighmey (who studied under Eugene List at The Eastman School of Music), and Ozan Marsh (who studied under many of the early 20th Century greats such as Sergei Rachmaninoff, Vladimir Horowitz, Isidor Philipp, and others).

Performance opportunities are provided through studio events, and through Heather’s membership in the Music Teachers National Association, the Arizona State Music Teachers Association, and the Phoenix Music Teachers Association.
