The Phoenix Music Teachers Association is devoted to the advancement of music education. We are a local association and affiliate of the Arizona State Music Teachers Association and the Music Teachers National Association. Our members offer lessons in piano, organ, voice, violin, viola, cello, wind instruments, guitar and more!

About Us
The Phoenix Music Teachers Association is a local association and affiliate of the Arizona State Music Teachers Association and the Music Teachers National Association.
PMTA's purpose is the advancement of music education, specifically:
- To ensure that every student has access to a balanced, comprehensive, and high-quality program of music education
- To promote the involvement of all ages in learning, appreciating and enjoying music
- To conduct programs and activities that build a vital musical culture
- To improve the quality of teaching, research, and scholarship in music
- To facilitate the education of music teachers, by introducing the most effective techniques and resources in music instruction
Scholarship Fund
The PMTA Scholarship Fund makes it possible to further the mission of our organization by offering financial awards that recognize a student’s hard work and achievements in music.

PMTA is mourning the passing of long-time member Bobbi Stoutenburgh on December 15, 2022. The family wishes to establish a fund in her honor to which friends and family can donate, in lieu of flowers. To donate to the Barbara “Bobbi” Stoutenburgh Memorial Fund, please follow these instructions:
