PMTA Leadership

The Phoenix Music Teachers Association would not exist without the dedication of its members who donate their time, skills and talents to fill the many volunteer positions.

PMTA Volunteer Positions Open

The PMTA Board of Directors staffs the following positions: 7 officers, 4 teacher event committee chairs, 7 student event committee chairs, Arizona Study Program chairs, and 6 administrative positions.

Please review the following “open positions” and consider how you may be able to pitch in to help keep PMTA the wonderful association that it is. If you have questions or think one of these positions might be a good fit for you, don’t hesitate to contact our President, Nellie Cronin.

PMTA Board Openings:

  • Community Outreach Chair: Sees that Metro Phoenix music stores in the PMTA district have PMTA (and ASMTA) brochures; coordinates other activities that would promote PMTA in the community. This position does not require attendance at the three board meetings per year, although attendance is encouraged.

Other PMTA Volunteers Needed (attendance at board meetings not required, but you are invited):

  • Historian’s Assistant: Assist the Historian in a one-time project of scanning to a thumb drive, from hard copies of PMTA Archives for transfer to the ASU Archives Website. There are approximately 15 Display Binders (1.5 inch width) from the 1950s to the present time. Knowledge of scanning procedures is required. Assistant needs access to scanning equipment and may work from home. We hope to complete this project in 2016.
  • Webmaster Assistant: Assist the Webmaster in updating/revising our Google AdWords campaign. Knowledge of marketing a plus.
