Carolyn Waters Broe is an American violist, violinist, and conductor. She teaches all levels of private violin and viola in her home studio in Scottsdale, Arizona. She also teaches beginning cello and piano lessons. Carolyn was the faculty viola and violin instructor at several Maricopa Community Colleges. Carolyn has been the featured viola soloist with orchestras in California and Arizona. She is the Artistic Director and Conductor of the Four Seasons Orchestra of Scottsdale. She was the Principal Violist of the Scottsdale Philharmonic for eleven years. Carolyn Broe earned her Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Arizona State University. She received her Master of Arts from California State University Long Beach, and her Bachelor's in Music from Chapman University. Carolyn Waters Broe is the author of "Fifty Famous Composers For Kids Of All Ages". This is a collection of short biographies of twenty-five famous male composers and twenty-five famous female composers. It is designed as a resource book for music teachers, music students, parents and grandparents, and music lovers. Fifty Famous Composers won the Mom's Choice Gold Award for 2021 and was honored with two Finalist Awards in the 2022 International Book Awards in "History: General" and "Performing Arts", and the Book Excellence Award in 2023.
