Dr. Svetlana Obregon Saens is a concert pianist, teaching artist, and co-founder of Ostinato Piano Studio in Verrado, Buckeye. As a performer and educator, she has appeared throughout Europe and North America.

A prizewinner in international competitions, she has received recognition at the International Music Festival “Musica Classica” in Ruza, Russia, and the International Competition “Music Without Limits” in Lithuania. She also received the Honorable Award for Excellence in Performance and High Professional Achievements as a collaborative artist and teacher.

She earned her Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance from Arizona State University and is an Artist-in-Residence with the Scottsdale Philharmonic, where she regularly appears as a soloist. She has also served on the faculty of the ASU School of Music and ASU Community Music School.

Dr. Obregon Saens brings more than twenty years of teaching experience in Russia and the United States. Her individualized approach provides a complete, well-rounded musical education. She believes technical development should be guided by musical goals and serve the expression of the music. Her students have completed examinations through the Arizona Study Program and the Royal Conservatory of Music.

At Ostinato Piano Studio, she offers private piano lessons for kids and adults, from motivated beginners to advanced students. Instruction emphasizes proper technique, beautiful tone, careful listening, rhythm, sight-reading, ear training, theory, purposeful practice, and deeper musical understanding.

According to their interests and readiness, students may participate in studio recitals, assessments, festivals, competitions, and MTNA, ASMTA, PMTA, and EVMTA events. She teaches alongside her husband, concert pianist and fellow PMTA member Dr. Vitaly Serebriakov.
