Tatyana Eldridge is a graduate of Ryazan Music College of Gregory & Alexander Pirogov, (B.A) and the Moscow State University of Culture and Arts, (M.A.).
Tatyana taught piano and performed as an accompanist for choir and different instruments at the Ryazan School of Arts for Children #4 in Ryazan, Russia from 1984 (while working on her Masters) through 2001. She taught students from beginners to advanced students (pre-musical college). Her duties included the development and monitoring of course curriculum, parent conferences, directing student competitions and public performances. Her students participated and won national and international competitions. Additionally, she honed her professional teaching skills by attending master classes presented by outstanding teachers from the Moscow Conservatory.
She moved to Scottsdale, Arizona in late 2001 and started to work as an accompanist for the Ballet of Arizona in January of 2002 where she worked until 2010. In 2002 she started to teach piano as an independent music teacher and has taught privately since then. In 2004 Tatyana joined PMTA and through her membership was able to offer her students a variety of programs outside the studio.
Tatyana Eldridge is involved extensively in the PMTA life, sharing her professional knowledge (giving a presentation about Bach’s style for example) and passion for music with her colleagues and the music community as well as helping to organize many of PMTA’s events. She chaired the Celebration of Music competition (now known as the Dean & Carolyn Elder competition). She has chaired/co-chaired the PMTA Fall Festival (now known as the Fall Piano Festival) competition for many years and continues to fulfill this role currently. Most recently she became the chair of the PMTA Arizona Study Program. Additionally, she served as the State Membership Chairperson in 2014-2017, the 3rd Vice President/Conference Chairman of Arizona State Music Teachers Association in 2018, she was the co-chair of James R. Anthony Honors Recital 2018- 2021, and the ASMTA 1st Vice President/President Elect 2023-2025. Currently she is the ASMTA President. Tatyana Eldridge is the recipient of the ASMTA 2023 Honored Teacher of the Year Award.
In addition to her involvement in organizing many musical events, Tatyana has been judging many local competitions and music programs (ASP), and she has had students participate in numerous local, state and international competitions. Her students have taken part in the PMTA Fall Festival, PMTA Elder Competition, Arizona state Honors Recital, MTNA State competition, and the Great Composers Competition (UK), with many of them receiving top prizes.
