MUSIC WORKS COMMUNITY (Carolyn Inabinet, Director), in North Central Phoenix since 1974, was formerly known as Music Works Academy. MWC is a community of music teachers dedicated to providing quality music instruction and offering year-round lessons and classes in piano. In addition, MWC is the home of the PRELUDE Piano Program: A Musical Beginning, offering classes for the PreSchooler to grade 1.
MWC, "The Piano Place", provides instruction to all ages and all levels, from 3 years to senior citizens. Piano students also have the opportunity to work in a Musicianship Lab for theory and ear training; inStudio and onLine options are available. Lessons are offered throughout the summer. Four Musicales per academic school year provide opportunities for performance. Students can also elect to participate in festivals, ensembles, competitions and adjudications.
The PRELUDE Piano Program offers small-group classes at the Bethany Home location. This program has two age groups: 1) ShiningStars - preschool piano discovery classes for ages 3-5; and 2) LeapFrogs - kindergarten and first grade piano classes. These classes provide small group activities integrating Orff and Kodaly music education experiences with piano; ear training with rote and by-copy playing, hand coordination and awareness with drumming, finger development with piano playing, and music reading readiness activities with PianoFonicsĀ®.
Music Works has three piano instructors on staff who are members of Phoenix Music Teachers Association. Click here to learn more about our instructors.
